Rikard Kånge

With almost 20 years of experience as a patent attorney, Rikard is frequently engaged by clients within life science, pharma and medtech, as well as materials and process chemistry for his broad technical expertise and clear strategic advice in complex patent matters.

Prior to joining EIP, Rikard worked as a partner at Groth and AWA, a well-known IP firm in Sweden, where he gained substantial experience in patent prosecution, patent strategies and patent litigation working with companies of various sizes from start-ups to international blue-chip companies. In addition, Rikard has significant experience from freedom-to-operate, infringement and due diligence analyses. During his time at AWA, Rikard was seconded to work as head of patents at a major medtech client.

Rikard holds Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering with a specialization in polymer technology from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden. Specialist areas include biopolymers, pulp and paper, and coatings. Before becoming a patent attorney, he worked as a research associate in Swedish microfluidics start-up Gyros.
